By the late 1980s, it had been decades since the small village of New Haven, Michigan had enjoyed its own independent newspaper. With the help of a Commodore home computer and a Huffy bicycle, a neighborhood kid decided to start his own.

The New Haven Herald Jr. ran from February 1988 through March 1989. John K. Addis was the editor and lead writer, and at the time of the first issue, was just 10 years old. Throughout its run, no contributor to the paper was older than 11, and no grown-up was involved in the creation, writing, layout, or distribution of the paper in any way.

This collection contains all six issues of the short-lived newspaper, in addition to the history of the project, unpublished articles, and press clippings.

Also available in hardcover.
